We are seeking a Financial Accountant with a strong background in tax and accounting, advanced Excel skills, and the confidence to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and initiative for our client based in Port Elizabeth.
Responsibilities
International Entities (Spain & Uruguay)
- Take full responsibility for the accounting and reporting of two entities in Spain and one in Uruguay.
- Prepare and manage monthly management accounts with complete accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform weekly accuracy and completeness checks on reports and Power BI dashboards.
- Handle sales invoicing and selected bank processing tasks.
- Ensure database integrity and accuracy across systems.
- Build a deep understanding of Spanish and Uruguayan statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with local accountants to meet statutory and regulatory obligations.
Customer Financial Management (FE, SEA & RUS Markets)
- Liaise closely with the commercial team and address all financial queries.
- Finalize accounts sales and capture customer payments accurately in QX.
- Ensure that sales values reflect accurate and up-to-date estimates.
- Take full ownership of customer financial processes within designated markets.
Producer Management
- Manage grower invoices, reconciliations, and payments.
- Prepare payments for weekly approval meetings and send remittances.
- Maintain full responsibility and ownership for assigned producers.
Month-End Responsibilities
- Prepare accrual journals, interest calculations, and system reconciliations.
- Prepare elimination amounts for consolidated monthly accounts.
- Complete management accounts for a separate local entity.
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), including installment sale agreements.
Statutory Compliance
- Complete and submit VAT returns (monthly and bi-monthly).
- Prepare provisional tax and annual tax return calculations.
- Assist with audit preparation and annual financial statement reviews.
Requirements
- CA (SA) qualified or eligible to register as a CA (SA).
- Strong tax and accounting knowledge.
- Advanced Excel user with excellent data management and analytical skills.
- Experience working with international entities will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with Power BI and financial systems preferred.
