Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant with a professional accounting designation to join our clients team.

The successful candidate will manage financial records, prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.

This role is critical to supporting the companys financial integrity and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyse financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring timely and accurate transaction recording.

Assist with budgeting forecasting and variance analysis.

Manage accounts payable and receivable including invoice processing and vendor payments.

Ensure full compliance with tax regulations and prepare and submit tax returns.

Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and responses.

Conduct financial analysis to provide actionable insights for business decisions.

Develop and update accounting policies and procedures.

Utilize financial software systems efficiently maintaining data accuracy.

Process month-end entries through to Trial Balance.

Oversee monthly payments to Fund Managers and creditors.

Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for local and offshore accounts.

Prepare VAT reconciliations and SARB submissions.

Prepare tax journals and calculations.

Facilitate a smooth annual audit process through thorough preparation and support.

Qualifications & Experience

SAIPA articles.

Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience preferably in Investment Management or a similar financial sector.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting and tax compliance.

Experience with JDE and advanced Excel skills advantageous.
