Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and professional Financial Accountant to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate reporting of the organization’s financial status, including maintaining data, detecting trends, forecasting future needs, and preparing detailed statements for stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • B.Com Accounting degree
  • SAICA accreditation preferred- even if its board 1
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a general ledger or related accounting function
  • Proven experience in a Syspro environment (essential)
Key Responsibilities
  • General Ledger & Reporting
    • Maintain and review monthly General Ledger reconciliations with supporting schedules
    • Resolve reconciling items promptly to ensure accurate closing
    • Complete bi-annual and annual schedules for specific General Ledger accounts
  • Fixed Assets
    • Update and maintain the Fixed Assets Register per plant
    • Process Capex requests and review financial justifications
  • Cashflow Management
    • Prepare and submit weekly cashflow forecasts to Head Office
    • Reconcile forecasts with actual cash movements
  • Statutory Compliance
    • Review monthly VAT and EMP201 returns
    • Perform IT14SD reconciliations and liaise with SARS on tax-related queries
  • Audit & Treasury
    • Support internal and external audit processes
    • Review and update Foreign Exchange Contracts (FEC) schedules and documentation
    • Manage buyer documentation for payments and update shared records
  • Banking
    • Liaise with banking personnel on all bank-related matters
    • Review and release payments on the banking system
  • Skills & Competencies
