Our Client, a prominent brand name in the FMCG Industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Financial Accountant to their team based in Maitland, Cape Town.
Main Purpose of the Job: To produce accurate and timeous month end, quarterly and annual results.

Requirements:
- B.Com Honours or equivalent degree.
- CIMA qualification.
- Advanced accounting expertise.
- Strong administrative ability.
- Understanding of company policy and operations.
- Numeric ability.
- Knowledge of creditors / accounts payable.
- Reconciliations skills.
- Budgeting skills.
- Knowledge of F8 (accounting standard / ACCA paper).
- Ratio analysis.
- Understanding / ability to compute free cash flow.
- Experience with consolidated financial results.
- Knowledge of CaseWare (software).
- Ability to analyse and review financial data.
- Processing and synthesis ability.
- Understanding of cash flow process.
- Knowledge of accounting processes specific to FHG (or similar group accounting).
- Understanding of stock purchasing processes.
- Understanding of commission structures.
- Audit process knowledge and understanding.
- Experience in preparing management accounts.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Prepare individual and group consolidated financial statements.
- Review actual cash flow vs cash flow targets monthly.
- Update and review “open to buy” targets.
- Prepare and control the annual expense budget within company parameters.
- Manage and control expenses as per budget.
- Prepare the financial section of the Board Pack.
- Analyse and investigate discrepancies in financial data.
- Ensure that all expenses are accounted for and accrued in the correct accounting period.
- Ensure management accounts are issued within 5 working days of new month.
- Ensure hours worked are reconciled.
- Ensure volumes delivered and cost per kg are reconciled.
- Be accountable for all account reconciliations; address reconciling items.
- Ensure accuracy of balance sheet account reconciliations, including accruals and pre-payments.
- Calculate premiums and finance charges.
- Complete journal postings.
- Coordinate and manage Botswana payroll (or multi-jurisdiction payroll if relevant).
- Manage and co-ordinate promotional item costs.
- Produce breakdowns of logistics methods.
