Finance Officer : Global Fund (X2 Positions)

Position Summary
The Finance Officer supports day‑to‑day financial management of the Global Fund project. Responsibilities include processing transactions, maintaining records, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with donor and organisational financial policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process payment vouchers, ensuring proper supporting documentation and approvals.
- Record transactions in the accounting system (e.g., Pastel Evolution).
- Support monthly closing processes by preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing monthly bank reconciliations and monitor bank balances.
- Maintain well‑organised financial files (physical and electronic) and ensure compliance with donor documentation requirements.
- Ensure transactions comply with Global Fund and organisational policies and flag compliance gaps.
- Assist in reviewing financial documents received from sub‑recipients (SRs).
- Assist in preparing periodic financial reports for submission to the Global Fund and track expenditures against budget.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and reconcile assets with the general ledger and physical inventory.
- Support audits and physical verifications, addressing any discrepancies and report asset‑related information in financial reports.
- Assist in preparing VAT claims and PAYE schedules and ensure timely statutory payments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field – degree an added advantage.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a similar finance role, preferably in donor‑funded projects.
- Knowledge of Global Fund financial management guidelines.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel Evolution).
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with donor‑funded project finance processes.
