YOUR OPPORTUNITY

This role, within the finance Middle East, Africa organization, is a unique opportunity to be part of the Transaction & Compliance team responsible for the core financial processes for the South African and Nigerian markets with the aim to achieve its vision to be recognized as a best‑in‑class organization by providing excellent accounting, reporting and compliance services to its stakeholders.

This role will implement and/or execute process strategies within the following broad functional areas: General Accounting, Reconciliations & Month‑End, Audit & Financial Reporting and Taxation & Regulatory Compliance, all in a timely and accurate way.

About You

You will be a hands‑on team member with significant experience in core financial processes including Record‑to‑Report, Order‑to‑Cash, Procure‑to‑Pay, Intercompany & Treasury Flows. You will strive to find operational efficiencies in all processes and have a founder’s mentality to ensure a balance approach to control environment recommendations. You will have good accounting GAAP knowledge and an interest in complex accounting concepts. As a member of the AMEA Finance Family you will be in your comfort zone working across the matrix as part of a diverse team.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for complete and accurate day‑to‑day accounting and reporting and month‑, quarter‑ and year‑end closing of all companies within South Africa and Nigeria, working closely with Bacardi’s Shared Service Center to ensure financial submissions are complete and accurate and delivered on time.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Balance Sheet of all companies within South Africa and Nigeria, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Provide support to the organization for the resolution of the most complex cases.
  • Rebates management, ie creation, monitoring of accruals balances & payment, for both legal entities & submission of rebates creation & invoices in Tradall entity when applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring controls are operating effectively, this includes execution and collaboration with other control owners.
  • Ensure group re‑charges, reconciliations and invoicing are completed and cleared in a timely manner.
  • Lead the management of foreign exchange (FX) implications across accounting, reporting, and treasury activities, in close coordination with Global Treasury, Global Finance, and Regional Finance teams.
  • You will be responsible for managing year‑end audits in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (PWC, EY, Deloitte) for all legal entities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and full compliance with both local and internal deadlines.
  • You will also lead the management of trade and liquor license renewals along with the BBBEE (Broad‑Based Black Economic Empowerment) and Corporate Social Ethics committees. You will partner cross‑functionally with Procurement, Human Resources, Legal, and Tax teams, and coordinate with the Global Corporate Secretarial Relations and Legal departments to ensure all local administrative and regulatory obligations are met.
  • You will support the Senior Finance Manager MEA, Transaction, Reporting & Compliance by implementing the delivery of Financial Accounting System processes including timely financial closings and accurate financial data reporting and the compliance of all the global/local KPIs.
  • Actively execute and drive process improvement projects including system implementations.
  • Work closely with other functions, such as but not limited to, Bacardi Shared Service Center, Commercial Finance, Performance Management, Budget Control and Reporting, Marketing and Operations, to ensure the streamlined of processes and proper communication of risk and opportunities.
Skills & Capabilities
  • 8+ years of incremental responsibilities in finance with a current role as Finance Manager or the equivalent experience at a Big 4 Accountancy Firm; with a strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX controls.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent (e.g., CIMA, ACCA) certification is required.
  • A deep understanding of local company laws, audit requirements, and administrative compliance (trade licenses, liquor licenses, etc.).
  • Registered Public Notary qualification or certification will be considered a plus, particularly for handling legal entity documentation, notarized filings, and compliance records.
  • Excellent English level. Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus (Hindi, Arabic, French).
  • Experience in multinational corporation, in spirits and/or fast‑moving consumer goods industry is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage and assess foreign exchange (FX) implications in accounting, reporting, and treasury processes.
  • Confident & proficient in the use of SAP TM1, BI, MS Office with advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills.
  • Proven proactive financial impact as a fully integrated team player & business partner.
  • Outstanding communication skills & ability to establish strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions & cultures. Networker comfortable influencing decision making across diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Superb analytical skills, critical thinking, intellectual curiosity. Able to distil complex data sets & ideas into concise insights & recommendations.
  • Process focused with an understanding of end‑to‑end business processes & their financial impacts.
  • Track record of driving change in finance systems, procedures & practices as well as delivering process simplification & improved ways of working.
  • Open to travel to Nigeria, especially during implementation or transition periods.
  • Ability to initiate and foster open dialogue across Bacardi Enterprise Solutions (global shared service centers) and the Business Partner organization.
