Are you a qualified CA(SA) ready to step into a Finance Manager role within a leading player in the short-term insurance sector? This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to take ownership of financial management, reporting, and process improvement within a high-performing finance division.

This established short-term insurance provider has built a solid reputation for delivering tailored risk and underwriting solutions to both individual and commercial clients. Key Responsibilities

As Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the finance function and guiding a small team of accountants. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing monthly accounting processes and reconciliations
  • Compiling and analysing management reports
  • Managing cashflow, investments, and approving payments and collections
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ensuring all control accounts, balance sheets, and income statements are reconciled monthly
  • Preparing and submitting VAT, income tax, and statutory returns (FSCA, Prudential Authority, SARB, SARS, NAMFISA)
  • Compiling annual financial statements in line with IFRS
  • Liaising with auditors and resolving outstanding reconciliation items
  • Identifying and implementing process and internal control improvements
  • Supporting regional managers with accurate and timely financial information
Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified CA(SA)
  • 2+ years’ post-articles experience, ideally within Financial Services or Short-Term Insurance
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Great Plains, SAP, or Accpac (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and time management abilities
