Job summary

Network Recruitment International seeks a CA(SA) with a strong real estate focus to lead the finance function and drive strategic financial direction. You will partner with executive stakeholders, shape investment evaluation, and build a robust, scalable finance team from the ground up.

Qualifications

  • Active SAICA membership.
  • 5-10 years post-qualification experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a management or leadership role.
  • Proven experience within real estate development, property investment, real estate fund management, or development projects.
  • Strong project finance and investment evaluation experience.
  • Advanced financial modelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of property development and investment economics.
  • Advanced budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management capabilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full financial function of the business.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Provide financial insight and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Establish and maintain financial controls, governance frameworks, and reporting structures.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models for development and investment projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, investment appraisals, and financial evaluations.
  • Assess development opportunities, acquisitions, funding structures, and investment returns.
  • Perform scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor project profitability, cash flows, and return on investment.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, audit, and financial reporting processes.
  • Prepare management accounts and board-level reporting packs.
  • Manage banking, funding, investor, and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Support fundraising, financing, and capital allocation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong expertise in financial management, project finance, investment evaluation, and financial modelling. The successful candidate will oversee the full finance function while contributing to the assessment and execution of development and investment opportunities.
