Job summary

Position Summary

The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance with local regulations, support budgeting and reporting, and contribute to broader administrative and operational processes.

This role is vital for safeguarding the organization's financial integrity and driving long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting, cash flow, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Oversee grant and donor fund management, ensuring alignment with donor agreements.
  • Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely submission of statutory returns.
  • Liaise with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls and procedures.
Administration & Operations
  • Oversee procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Support HR and administration with payroll processing, benefits, and compliance.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding and maintain records for statutory contributions (e.g., UIF, PAYE, pensions).
  • Manage office operations, logistics, facility maintenance, travel, and events.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational and Professional Qualifications

Required : Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred : Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial management, preferably within the non-profit or social impact sector.

Proven experience managing audits, donor reporting, and statutory compliance in South Africa.

Technical Proficiency

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar).

Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.

Familiarity with financial reporting standards and South African tax regulations.
