Job description
Overview

The purpose of this position is to work as part of the financial reporting team to provide key stakeholders with financial information relating to the overall performance of the Group.

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee and finalisation of;
  • Monthly management accounts including commentary/variance analysis
  • Cash flow reporting
  • Quarterly/Interim/Year-end reporting
  • Regulatory and statutory reporting
  • Other ad hoc reports and analysis as required
  • Participate in the collection, review and reporting of Group reporting packs from local jurisdiction entities
  • Review month end reports and journals prepared by the team
  • Review all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Understand and adhere to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation
  • Review the intercompany reconciliations
  • Develop innovative analyses that measure financial and operational performance in ways not captured on basic financial statements
  • Provide guidance and direction in relation to Regulatory Accounting. Align any local reporting accounting policy from local jurisdiction entities to the Games Global Group accounting policies and IFRS.
Audit Support:
  • Work with auditors to provide necessary information and resolve any audit-related issues.
  • Preparation of audit packs and ensuring audit readiness
Cash Management:
  • Cash flow planning and analysis for entity dividends payouts
  • Maintain the cashflow forecast for the Holding entities
Stakeholders:
  • Maintaining relationships with relevant accounting teams and internal group finance team
  • Ensure all reporting packs and reports are prepared for the Director meetings for the Holding entities
Financial Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Provide insightful information to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
  • Develop models and reporting to meet the demands of the business and align with group reporting
  • Developing and implementing finance strategies and controls
  • Planning, forecasting and budgeting for specified areas of the business as assigned by the Budgeting teamli>
Taxation compliance:
  • Compile and maintain the tax compliance tracker and to check if the relevant entities have filed or paid their taxes as per the timeline in the tracker. Review the local jurisdiction corporate taxation calculations.
  • Provide the relevant tax updates to the Group Tax team
Qualifications
Essential:
  • Fully qualified CA (SA)/ Honours degree in Accounting with 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
Desirable:
  • Experience with Microsoft Navision
  • Experience with Cognos TM1
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Internal controls experience
Additional technical and professional knowledge:
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced experience liaising and negotiating with key stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and contribute to improvement of core finance business processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems and Excel
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, financial regulations and tax laws
