Job summary

A recruitment agency in Cape Town seeks a Financial Manager to lead the finance and administrative functions, ensuring strategic decision-making across the business. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in accounting, 5-8+ years of experience in a senior finance role, and strong analytical capabilities. Responsibilities include overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership. Preference will be given to male candidates as per the Employment Equity plan.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years' experience in a senior finance role, preferably in the Service Industry.
  • High analytical skills for reporting and forecasting.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with statutory obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee full financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Lead accounts receivable and payable processes.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and revenue analysis.
  • Ensure statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, EMP).
  • Maintain dashboards and margin tracking.

We're looking for a commercially focusedFinancial Managerto lead our finance and administrative functions and support strategic decision-making across the business.

This role is suited to a qualified accountant with strong operational and analytical capabilities, confident leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. You'll be responsible for full financial oversight — from management reporting and compliance to margin analysis and budgeting — while working closely with the Managing Director and leading a small team.

Key Requirements
  • Accounting Qualification and certification
  • 5–8+ years' experience in a senior finance role - preferably in the Service Industry
  • Advanced Excel skills, highly analytical
  • Strong commercial and business acumen
  • Cloud-based accounting (Intacct experience preferred) and familiarity with Sage for payroll
  • Confident communicator with a strong client focus
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee full financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Oversee the IT and office management functions
  • Lead accounts receivable and payable processes
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and revenue analysis
  • Ensure statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, EMP, etc.)
  • Maintain dashboards, margin tracking and costing analysis
  • Collaborate on business planning and financial strategy
  • Invoicing and bank recon
  • Lead and support the finance team
