Responsibilities
- Generate monthly financial and management reports (Board packs, income statements, balance sheet, intercompany reconciliations) with variance analysis, commentary, and risks/opportunities.
- Maintain General Ledger integrity; manage month-end close, intercompany transactions, GL journals, and reporting to group.
- Report on weekly sales/orderbook, monthly flash, and quarterly forecasts; ensure segmentation by region, customer type, product group, etc.
- Ensure HR/labour costs are allocated by cost centre and functional area; report HR and capex expenses monthly.
- Prepare ad hoc reports (insurance, consultancy, inventory, procurement) as required.
- Prepare quarterly and annual budgets/forecasts; build driver-based models; perform scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Oversee working capital management (AR, AP, cash), and drive DSO/DPO targets; own 13-week cash forecast and liquidity dashboard.
- Map FX exposures; govern intercompany settlements, netting and cash repatriation.
- Coordinate VAT and indirect taxes; manage external auditors and corporate tax packs; ensure transfer pricing policies are followed.
- Own delegation of authority, finance policies, fixed assets, inventory, stock counts, and impairment reviews; strive for zero critical audit findings.
- Liaise with local and global finance teams; support cross-functional forecasting accuracy and reporting feedback.
- Lead ERP/system enhancements and process improvements; drive continuous improvement and financial literacy across the business.
- Provide insights to senior stakeholders; manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities, vendors, and internal teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- CA(SA) or equivalent; BCom with 5+ years in a finance/controller role in multi-entity/multi-currency environments; IFRS knowledge essential.
- Experience with GL, budgets, forecasts, and external audits; proficiency in Sage Evolution, D365 or similar ERP; BI tools like Power BI or Board.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to operate across countries/time zones.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or tech sectors and familiarity with transfer pricing policies is advantageous.
Skills
- Financial reporting and IFRS/commercial accounting; working capital management; data governance; ERP ownership; Excel/BI proficiency.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, presentation of packs to executives, and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
