Ornua is an Irish dairy co-operative that markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its Members, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. Ornua is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products and has annualised sales of € billion. Headquartered in Dublin, Ornua has a strong global team of 2,900 employees, operating from 10 business units worldwide, including 13 production facilities. Ornua’s core purpose is to build profitable routes to market for Irish dairy products.

The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients. Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands, including Ireland’s most successful food export, Kerrygold, as well as Kerrygold Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Avantage, Forto and BEO milk powders.

Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world, and for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing an accurate and timely Monthly P&L with a detailed variance analysis against the budget.
  • Monthly flash preparation and analysis against the budget.
  • Clear and concise presentation of monthly results to Senior Leadership.
  • Production of monthly Customer PL analysis.
Finance Business Partnering
  • Become a valued and integral member of the overall Foods business with the production of value add insights and analysis which help shape and drive the overall MEA International Strategy.
Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Preparation of monthly Forward Book and review with Business leads.
  • Support preparation of detailed quarterly forecasts throughout the year.
  • Support the annual budget process for the region.
Other
  • Assist with monthly forecast preparation and submission of monthly results onto Group consolidation accounting package.
  • Control A&P spend and ensure Balance Sheet accruals are accurate.
  • Maintain monthly financial records for local office.
  • Prepare any credit notes to be submitted against customer accounts.
  • Support sales team in tracking of accounts receivable.
  • Ad hoc requests as they arise to support the commercial team & Finance SLT.
Compliance
  • Support local tax and legal compliance.
  • Support Internal Audit issue and risk resolution.
  • VAT returns bi-monthly via SARS.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Part Qualified / Recently Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Experience working in commercial finance environment, FMCG a plus.
