SUMMARY :

Are you a strategic and detail-oriented finance professional with a strong focus on governance, compliance, and financial leadership?

POSITION INFO :

Our client is seeking a Finance and Governance Manager to take ownership of financial management, controls, and compliance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead and optimise the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring financial targets align with organisational objectives.
  • Monitor and review financial performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Strengthen financial governance, reviewing and implementing controls, systems, and policies to ensure compliance and sustainability.
  • Oversee management, including preparation of monthly reports, variance analysis, and year-end audit coordination.
  • Manage cash flow and capital expenditure, ensuring financial stability and effective utilisation of funds.
  • Supervise bank payments, stipends, and reconciliations to maintain accuracy and reduce risk.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and mitigating fraud risk.
  • Oversee contract management for suppliers, service providers, and lease agreements, ensuring financial prudence and compliance.
  • Support and monitor corporate compliance areas including B-BBEE, Employment Equity, Skills Development, SETA / QCTO, OHS, and SARS reporting.
  • Partner with the and executive leadership to drive finance transformation and governance initiatives.
Job Experience and Skills Required :
  • A BCom Degree in Accounting / Finance (Postgraduate or professional qualification advantageous).
  • 5–8 years’ experience in financial management, with exposure to governance and compliance functions.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS for SMEs, financial systems, and internal control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead financial operations, enhance controls, and support organisational strategy.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
