Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our telecommunications client in Gauteng. The role involves on-site installation, diagnostics, and maintenance of fibre, DSL, and wireless services at customer premises across Tembisa and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on telecom experience, strong customer service skills, and a valid driver’s license. Willingness to travel within Gauteng and work in a field environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent qualification; technical certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in telecommunications installation and repair.
• Solid understanding of FTTH, DSL, VoIP, and LTE.
• Proficiency in using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a field environment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment at customer premises.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to broadband, voice, and data services.
• Conduct site surveys to determine optimal equipment placement and installation procedures.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers on usage and troubleshooting.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during field operations.
• Manage service appointments and respond to customer requests promptly.
• Document all service calls, including issue resolutions and equipment status.
• Liaise with head office technical support for escalated issues.
