Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of geophysical logging experience and a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities include conducting site operations, calibrating equipment, and maintaining accurate records. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of geophysical logging experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license. Code 8 or Code 10 with PRDP.
  • Must have no three (3) moving vehicle violations in the past 12 months.
  • Must obtain PDP with dangerous goods endorsement.
  • Underground experience preferred.

Overview

Our client, based in Carletonville, delivers advanced borehole survey solutions to the mining and exploration industry across Africa. Leveraging specialised OEM tools from Boart Longyear, Axis Mining Technology, and Hexagon, they enable clients to capture precise downhole data critical for informed exploration and mining decisions. They are currently seeking a skilled Field Technician to operate DBS equipment and tools, applying established procedures and techniques to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery to their customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare units for logging.
  • Conduct site operations.
  • Inform customers of any unusual conditions noted at the well during logging.
  • Prepares, drafts and completes all logs for printing.
  • Calibrate equipment to within industry standards and keep and maintain records of all calibrations.
  • Process log data to field standard.
  • Maintain complete, accurate documentary records of the entire logging operation.
  • Archive log data, protect data from loss, and maintain a safe back-up procedure.
  • Administration of all radioactive materials at base and on the wellsite.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest technological changes and operating procedures of equipment, tools, and practices.
  • Track the maintenance cycle of the equipment.
  • Customer relations.
  • Drive company vehicles safely and professionally (Code 10 / HGV), ensure all licenses and permits are valid.

Compliance with all company procedures, rules, processes, and codes of conduct.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of geophysical logging experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license. Code 8 or Code 10 with PRDP.
  • Must have not been cited for three (3) moving vehicle violations in the past 12 months.
  • Must obtain PDP with dangerous goods endorsement.
  • Individuals with Civil or Electrical engineering or Geology will have preference.
  • Underground experience.
  • Must be certifiable in all applicable governmental compliance programs.
