Our client, a reputable leader in the industrial power tools, automation and instrumentation sector, is seeking a qualified, skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join their dynamic team based in Boksburg . This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong individual who enjoys hands‑on technical work, problem‑solving, and supporting clients on‑site with advanced machinery and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, maintain, and repair industrial power tools, automation systems, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, PLC, and instrumentation faults.
  • Configure, update, and optimise systems using PLC software.
  • Conduct calibrations and testing of instrumentation devices and sensors.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on equipment functionality and safe operation.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure system performance, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and job cards accurately.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve advanced system issues.
  • Local and international travel for installations, commissioning, and client support.
Minimum Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 Essential
  • A Degree in Electronic, Robotics or Mechatronics engineering
  • PLC Programming is essential.
  • 2–3 years proven experience as a Field Service Technician in the automation environment.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Passport (for travel requirements)
  • Good mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage field schedules
