Job Requirements
- Proven experience in sales, preferably within the logistics or related industries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to problem‑solving and decision‑making.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to focus on outcomes.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- A good working knowledge of airfreight, ocean freight, road freight, customs clearing, imports, exports, and international trade.
Customers: Both New & Existing
- Develop and maintain strong existing customer relations and loyalty by ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Respond to customer enquiries / complaints.
- Manage a defined portfolio of potential customers and win them for a lasting business relationship.
- Seek and prospect for BC targets to win new customers.
- Plan and manage medium to large‑sized business customers.
- Build rapport and trust with customers by being informed about customers’ businesses and the market.
- Recommend solutions based on customer needs by using industry knowledge.
- Be responsible for closing business by connecting a customer’s needs to a solution, offering value to the client’s supply chain.
- Use networks within various sales channels to collaborate on customers, marketing strategies, and offer a whole supply chain of services to meet customer needs.
- Collect relevant customer information and prepare documents for customer implementation to ensure proper operational handover and implementation to meet customer expectations.
Business Development
- Develop sales plan/strategy/activities to achieve target budgets.
- Conduct high‑quality presentations of the entire range of standardised products to customers.
- Develop target lists of new business and continuously review and update them.
- Establish and present customised offers to customers.
- Negotiate with customers on contractual terms of service provision that are aligned with the corporate sales policy and procedures.
- Adhere to approved credit limits granted to customers and enforce previously agreed payment terms.
Business Performance & Results
- Prepare and realise planned sales calls.
- Be responsible for product targets.
- Be responsible for budgeted growth in new and additional business.
- Secure/collect all necessary information to assess the creditworthiness of potential customers.
- Support receivables functions.
- Ensure that customer commitments are clearly communicated to the respective operations, along with a clear business setup process.
- Report activities: quotes, sales calls, and other information through CRM.
- Perform roles and responsibilities in compliance with company policies, procedures, and instructions.
