Qualifications

  • Guiding qualification such as IFGA or FGASA is essential.

Job description

We are looking for a Groups Program Assistant to help deliver world-class group programs in Limpopo! This role focuses on creating unforgettable participant experiences, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining high safety and ethical standards. You'll assist with daily program coordination, facilitate impactful sessions, engage with local partners, and mentor participants.

About the role

The goal of the Groups Field Assistant is to support the delivery of world-leading groups and under-18 programs in-country, by focusing on participant experience. We have a variety of short-term contract options and need vibrant individuals brimming with energy, who thrive on travel adventures and share our zeal for conservation and community projects.

Role and responsibilities

  • Supporting the Groups Senior Program Coordinator and Head of Groups Delivery in the running of group programs.
  • Assisting with project work including planning sessions.
  • Managing the groups on a day to day basis, ensuring they have a positive experience
  • Interacting with local partners for certain activities
  • Delivering presentations and training relevant to the project activities
  • Acting as an enthusiastic role model for participants and providing guidance and mentorship
  • Working with the team to ensure the program operates to a high standard and all health and safety protocols are followed

About you

Professional skills and experience

  • Guiding qualification such as IFGA, FGASA, or similar
  • 1-2 years of experience working in the field (preferably African wildlife)
  • Be a South African citizen/resident or have a minimum 2-year visa in place
  • Have a SA driver's license - Code 08/EB (including the ability to tow a trailer)
  • Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
  • Experience managing participants on group or individual service or adventure programs
  • Fluency in English
  • Great people skills
  • Advantageous:
    • Trained in First Aid, wildlife safety, mountaineer safety, or equivalent
