Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Potchefstroom is seeking an experienced professional to operate extrusion machinery and ensure product quality. The role requires a degree in Consumer Sciences or Food Technology, along with 2 years of experience in Food/Feed Extrusion Technology. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential for success. This is a full-time position with no remote work option.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in Food / Feed Extrusion Technology.
• Experience in Operating Extruder and / or extrusion plants.
• Knowledge of Food / Feed Product Development.
• Knowledge of procurement of food and feed extrusion raw materials.
• Knowledge of food safety.

Responsibilities

• Checking raw material quality for compliance.
• Prepping extrusion machinery for product development and/or production.
• Operating extrusion machinery such as Food Extruder.
• Install, connect, test, and adjust equipment as needed.
• Checking for product quality and compliance.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Checking raw material quality for compliance
• Prepping extrusion machinery for product development and / or production
• Operating extrusion machinery such as Food Extruder
• Install connect test and adjust equipment as needed
• Checking for product quality and ensuring the process is compliant
• Conduct product analysis
• Writing of extrusion technology reports
• Do recipe formulations for extrusion processes
• Maintaining the extrusion equipment
• Trouble shooting on product defect / non-compliance with quality standards
• Corrective actions for machinery not operating in good condition
• Be willing to travel for commissioning of extrusion plants

Qualifications

• Degree in Consumer Sciences / Food Technology as an added advantage
• 2 years experience in Food / Feed Extrusion Technology
• Experience in Operating Extruder and / or extrusion plants
• Knowledge of Food / Feed Product Development
