About the Role

Our client operates extensive agricultural land near Rustenburg, North West, specializing in large-scale cereal production and livestock. We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Farm Operations Manager to oversee all day-to-day activities, with a particular emphasis on advanced mechanization and operational efficiency. This role is critical for maximizing productivity and ensuring the seamless integration of modern farming technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing large farming operations, significant experience with agricultural machinery, and a proven ability to lead diverse teams in a demanding, hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of farm operations, including land preparation, planting, cultivation, harvesting, and storage.
• Oversee the maintenance, operation, and efficient utilization of all farm machinery and equipment.
• Develop and implement operational schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources and timely execution of tasks.
• Manage a team of farm workers, supervisors, and equipment operators, fostering a culture of safety and productivity.
• Monitor crop health and growth, implementing appropriate interventions based on field observations and data.
• Manage budgets for operational expenses, including fuel, maintenance, labor, and consumables.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality control standards.
• Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and management to ensure smooth operational flow.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Farm Management, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in managing large-scale commercial farming operations, with a focus on mechanization.
• Extensive knowledge of modern agricultural machinery, including tractors, harvesters, planters, and associated technology.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and control operational costs effectively.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in supervising diverse workforces.
• Excellent understanding of crop production cycles, pest and disease management, and soil conservation practices.
• Proficiency in farm management software and data analysis is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends during peak seasons, based in Rustenburg, North West.
