About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and diligent Farm Operations Assistant to support the daily operations of their agricultural enterprise near East London . This entry-level to mid-level role is designed for an individual eager to learn and contribute across various aspects of farm management, from crop maintenance to basic equipment operation. You will work closely with the farm manager and team to ensure smooth and efficient execution of tasks, playing a key role in the productivity of the farm in the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily farm tasks, including planting, cultivating, weeding, and harvesting crops under supervision.
• Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and tools as directed.
• Help in the monitoring of crop health, identifying pests or diseases, and reporting observations.
• Assist with irrigation system checks and basic maintenance.
• Support the farm manager in record-keeping, inventory management, and general farm upkeep.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing duties.

Requirements

• Some prior experience in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and perform a variety of manual farm tasks.
• Basic understanding of farming principles and practices.
