Job summary

Placements24 in Soweto is seeking a dedicated Family Counsellor to strengthen family units within the community. You will provide counseling, facilitate conflict resolution, and liaise with schools and local centers to coordinate holistic family support.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work, is registered with HPCSA or SACSSP, and has proven experience in family therapy, excellent interpersonal and listening skills, and a commitment to social

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Registered with HPCSA or SACSSP as a practicing professional.
• Proven experience in family therapy and counseling.
• Strong understanding of family systems theory and intervention techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
• Ability to work empathetically and effectively with diverse families in the Soweto community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual, couples, and family counseling sessions to address relational issues.
• Facilitate workshops and group sessions on topics such as communication, parenting, and conflict resolution.
• Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to family needs.
• Provide support and guidance to families in navigating life transitions and crises.
• Liaise with schools, community centers, and other support services to provide holistic family support.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and progress notes.
