Job summary

ADvTECH, a leading private education provider in Africa, seeks a Foundation Phase Educator for its Schools Division in Centurion. You will deliver foundational instruction in reading, literacy and numeracy while building student confidence and a love of learning.

Required qualifications include an undergraduate degree (ECD/B.Ed), SACE certification, and 2–5 years of teaching experience; PGCE is advantageous and police clearance is mandatory. Digital literacy and First Aid are also sought after.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree (ECD or B.Ed) is required; PGCE enhances suitability.
• SACE certification is required; police clearance is a must.
• 2–5 years of teaching experience in foundation phase is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer skills and digital literacy is essential.
• First Aid certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver foundational academic instruction in reading, literacy and numeracy.
• Assess and report on student progress and performance.
• Manage student behaviour and uphold school safety standards.
• Promote the school brand and maintain professional relationships with community stakeholders.
• Oversee administrative tasks related to classroom management.
• Ensure health and safety protocols are followed within the classroom.

Duties

Foundation phase educators will create a learning experience to stimulate and grow individual talents and equip children with the requisite basic education skills in the areas of reading, literacy and numeracy amongst others. They will need :-

Qualifications & Experience

• an undergraduate degree (NQF level 6) in ECD or B. Education (Foundation Phase)
• A PGCE would be necessary if the degree is deemed suitable viz Psychology
• SACE certification and a police clearance are requirements
