Job summary

Nestlé Harrismith Factory seeks a Factory Maintenance Engineer to drive the maintenance program, reduce unplanned downtime and optimize asset performance. You will lead TPM practices, support energy-saving initiatives and ensure safety governance across the plant.

Role requires an Engineering Degree or Diploma and at least 3 years in engineering management/maintenance in manufacturing, preferably FMCG. On-site role with opportunities for growth and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in engineering management/maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• FMCG or food processing experience is advantageous.
• Strong safety governance and maintenance planning experience.
• Experience with maintenance methodologies (PM pillar/foundations).
• Knowledge of Asset Maintenance Management systems (preferably SAP PM).

Responsibilities

• Lead in safety to ensure Zero harm and a reliable safety culture.
• Participate in maintenance planning to ensure timely, high-quality activities.
• Manage AMM/SAP PM usage and maintenance budgets.
• Support Autonomous Maintenance and problem-solving to eliminate defects.
• Coach and develop maintenance staff and manage direct reports.
• Assist in technical training and capability building for the maintenance team.
• Ensure compliance with standards and safe interventions for installations.
