Job summary

A leading equipment supplier in South Africa is looking for a Facilities Manager to supervise building maintenance, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage an effective working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, a relevant diploma, and experience in facilities management. This role offers a comprehensive overview of facility operations and financial management.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years’ experience in Facilities Management would be advantageous.
  • High level of accuracy.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the facility Emergency Response Coordinator.
  • Supervise day-to-day maintenance and manage contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Draft maintenance plans with costing and manage SLAs/KPIs.

Safety
  • Serve as the facility Emergency Response Coordinator
  • Attend the Health and Safety Committee meetings
Building Management
  • Supervise and coordinate the day‑to‑day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds and facilities systems
  • Maintain a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws
  • Respond to reactive maintenance issues timeously
  • Ensure the effective maintenance and management of Barloworld Equipment’s motor vehicle
  • Supervise and co‑ordinate works with contractors
  • Ensure all suppliers adhere to company policies while on site
  • Submit weekly building inspection reports
  • Oversee monthly inspection of portable electrical equipment, kitchen areas, ablution facilities, fire detection/equipment and other (as required)
  • Schedule and supervise preventative maintenance and liaise with Landlord where applicable
  • Plan, guide and supervise all gardening maintenance and improvements
  • Capture monthly water and electricity meter reading
  • SLA/KPI management for Soft and Hard services
  • Responsible for drafting scope of work for Facilities related RFQ/RFPs as per Procurement procedures
Financial Management
  • Draft maintenance plan with costing
  • Analyse quotes received from contractors for cost optimisation
