Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities Manager to join a luxury health and fitness club in Gauteng North. You will oversee maintenance, safety, and operations to ensure a safe, functional environment for members, guests and staff.

The role requires strong leadership, budget control, contractor management, and a hands-on approach to building maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facilities systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management, preferably in hospitality/leisure or commercial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and service providers.
• Experience with budgeting and cost control for maintenance activities.
• Safe working practices and knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and operation of the facility.
• Implement preventative maintenance programmes across the property.
• Coordinate repairs with contractors and service providers.
• Monitor condition of building infrastructure, equipment and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage maintenance budgets, quotations and expenditure.
• Maintain maintenance records and asset registers.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify areas needing attention.
• Supervise maintenance staff and external contractors.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues to minimise disruption.

Facilities Manager | Luxury Health & Fitness Club | Gauteng North

Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 per month (DOE)

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities Manager to join a luxury health and fitness club in Gauteng North.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive facilities professional with strong maintenance and operational experience who is passionate about ensuring a safe, functional and well-maintained environment for members, guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the facility
• Implement preventative maintenance programmes across the property
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance with contractors and service providers
• Monitor the condition of building infrastructure, equipment and utilities
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Manage maintenance budgets, quotations and expenditure
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and asset registers
• Conduct routine inspections and identify areas requiring attention
• Supervise maintenance staff and external contractors
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues to minimise operational disruption

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Facilities Manager or in a similar maintenance management role
• Experience within hospitality, leisure, health and fitness or commercial facilities would be advantageous
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general facilities management
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership and contractor management abilities
• Computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems would be advantageous
• Valid driver's licence preferred
• Hands-on, proactive and able to work under pressure
