Introduction
An opportunity has become available for Facilities Manager, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
The successful incumbent will be based at Lanseria International Airport.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the airport, including terminals, offices, warehouses, utilities and common areas.
- Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OHS, environmental and building regulations.
- Coordinate regular inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Monitor expenditures, cost savings and resource allocation.
- Serve as point of contact for internal departments, tenants, and external partners regarding facilities issues.
- Address and resolve escalated maintenance requests.
- Support airport expansion and infrastructure development projects.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance processes and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent vendor and contract management skills.
- Financial literacy with experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management ability.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies.
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Diploma in Property Management, Facilities Management, Engineering or equivalent.
- Degree will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in facilities management, property operations or building services (airport / aviation sector advantageous).
- Proven experience in managing maintenance teams, contractors and large facilities portfolios.
- Background in health and safety, compliance, and building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
