SSK currently has the following career opportunity at its Property Maintenance department in Swellendam. We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Maintenance Assistant to strengthen our Property Management team. This role requires excellent manual dexterity and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate must have strong problem‑solving skills and always follow safety protocols, as well as be able to identify risks. The candidate will report to the Property Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection of buildings and facilities.
• Repairing broken equipment, lights, doors, windows, etc.
• Coordinating with external contractors for major repairs.
• Emergency response to maintenance requests from tenants or staff.
• Report on maintenance tasks and make recommendations for improvements.

Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
• 2–5 years of experience in Property Maintenance or a similar role.
• Technical training or experience in electrical work, plumbing, construction, carpentry, painting, or general maintenance is an advantage.
• A valid Driver's License (Code 8 or 10) is essential.
• Knowledge of transportable tools and the ability to use equipment safely.

The candidate must be willing to work overtime and on weekends. You must also be willing to work away from home for periods as required by the workload.
