Job summary

Qualifications

Job Summary

A leading automotive and engineering company is looking for a Facilities Engineer to support maintenance operations and infrastructure development within its advanced testing and manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Facility Specialist, this role is responsible for managing maintenance activities, planning capital projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting the calibration and operation of testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and assist in the planning and execution of routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment installations comply with OHSE Act, national / local regulations, and internal standards.
  • Prepare, prioritize, and justify proposed CAPEX investments and Overhead plans .
  • Monitor and control the maintenance budget , ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and track infrastructure budgets while ensuring timely and resource-efficient execution.
  • Oversee annual calibration and certification of Test Centre equipment in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Plan for future equipment and facility installations based on operational needs and new project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimations to support project approvals.
  • Draft tender documentation for procurement processes.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve technical issues with Test Centre equipment.
  • Design and develop test facilities, jigs, and fixtures using CAD tools .
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (BSc or B-Tech).
  • Minimum 35 years of relevant industry experience.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act .
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to work independently.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with an innovative mindset.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive.

Experience in 3D CAD design is advantageous.
