As a Face‑to‑Face Fundraiser, your primary responsibility will be to engage with the public in person in order to raise funds and awareness for our organization.
You will be actively seeking out potential donors, informing them about our cause, and inspiring them to make a donation or become a supporter of our organization.
You will be representing our organization in a positive and professional manner, building rapport with members of the public, answering questions and addressing any concerns they may have.
Responsibilities
- Deliveries: achieve fundraising targets individually by recruiting two or more new monthly donors daily.
- Align fundraising targets in conjunction with the existing strategy.
- Provide regular feedback on set daily and/or weekly objectives to the team leader.
- Include key performance indicators such as sign‑ups per hour and average gift, and qualitative targets such as improving the script and handling objections.
- Coordinate and communicate to ensure that team members’ numbers and performance standards are sufficient to meet fundraising targets.
- Assist with the training of new team members with the support of the team leader.
- Assist with keeping team members motivated and energized to perform at their best.
- Debrief with the team and team leader regularly to address areas of concern.
- Maintain daily communication with team members to ensure everyone is on the same page.
- Ensure company standards and job expectations are met.
Targets: 10 validated sign‑ups per week for age 30+, and an average gift of ZAR +.
Administration
- Complete daily and weekly performance forms and timesheets accurately on a daily basis for submission to the team leader at the end of each shift.
Skills and Requirements
- Ability to meet fundraising targets and work with deadlines.
- Face‑to‑face fundraising / sales experience.
- Experience working in teams and taking leadership roles.
- Excellent oral communication skills to be inspiring and persuasive.
- Outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
- Self‑confidence and conviction – the ability to take leadership roles in difficult situations without becoming disparaged.
- Ability to work unsupervised with professionalism, reliability, and punctuality.
- Must be a team player.
- Ability to commit to continuously changing shifts.
