Job summary

Express Employment Professionals Vaal Triangle in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, is seeking a Project Manager to lead fabrication and engineering projects from award through final handover.

You will coordinate Engineering, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, Stores, Painting, Finance and the Client to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget project delivery with high quality and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• Proven experience managing fabrication/engineering projects from award to handover.
• Knowledge of project scheduling, cost control and quality management (ISO 9001 advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage fabrication and engineering projects from award to handover.
• Achieve 95% of milestones on time and meet completion date.
• Issue weekly schedule updates and implement recovery plans when delays occur.
• Manage costs to stay within the approved budget and recover variations.
• Maintain final gross margin within ±5% of tendered margin.
• Ensure projects meet client specs and achieve high client satisfaction.
• Conduct weekly project meetings and provide weekly progress updates to clients.
• Inform internal departments of schedule changes within 24 hours.
• Review risks weekly and escalate issues promptly; implement recovery plans as needed.
• Maintain 98% on-time attendance and comply with policies and conduct codes.
• Foster teamwork and achieve a 4/5 supervisor rating; attend all meetings.
• Identify at least two process improvements per year and contribute to templates.
