Responsibilities

• Build a network of trusted relationships internally (subject matter experts and leaders) and externally (media and key opinion leaders); identify and proactively manage matters of current and potential media interest (related primarily to corporate issues, business priorities, transformation, and sustainability performance); flag and manage issues of interest within South Africa which may impact Anglo American as a business – political, economic, socio-economic.
• Strategically work to enable safer and more responsible ways of working, demonstrating integrity and showing care and respect for people and the planet.
• Constantly seek new opportunities to mine and process products sustainably, using less water, less energy, and more precise extraction technologies.
• As the custodians of coal and other precious natural resources – diamonds (through De Beers), copper, platinum and other precious metals, iron ore and nickel – our extraordinary teams work safely...
