One of our clients, a major manufacturer of electrical automotive components, has an opening for an Export Area Manager. This role will report into an Exports Manager

Job purpose:

To drive and grow market share (including exports and sales) of a product by brand and SKU and related services to existing customer base to ensure optimal levels of satisfaction is achieved and hunting for new customers and opportunities.

Export area: Sub-Saharan Africa.

Minimum requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing Management or related fields (NQF 7).
  • 6-8 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing within the component manufacturing environment of which: 3+ years should be exposed to the SSA sales environment.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite; SAP, ERP Systems) and job-specific software systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant sales and marketing processes and practices.
  • Experience in component exports would be an advantage.

  • Achieving sales targets and market share (40%), develops and implements an action plan to meet the strategic goals / export strategy.

Main duties:

  • Manages and monitors the sales activities of Business Representatives in the region.
  • Manages the regional Xpress and channel partner relationships and ensures performance is aligned to the set criteria as contained in the agreement.
  • Identifies new business opportunities by identifying potential dealers and distributors and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Contributes to the budget preparation process.
  • Monitors expenditure against budget and ensures spending occurs within budgetary limits and company financial guidelines, report deviations to direct manager.
