Job summary

Toyota South Africa Motors is seeking an experienced assessor/facilitator to manage and deliver training for the Fitter and Turner trades. The role includes conducting pre-trade and trade tests, moderating apprentices, and developing up-to-date curriculum modules to ensure compliance with MerSETA/NAMB/QCTO and ISO standards.

The ideal candidate has an N4 and trade-tested Fitter and Turner artisan background, with 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience and advantageous assessor/facilitator

Qualifications

• N4 and Trade Tested Fitter and Turner Artisan qualification.
• Experience in training apprentices and artisans in Mechanical/Fitter and Turner trades.
• 5 years post-apprenticeship on-the-job artisan experience.
• Assessor and Facilitator certificates are advantageous; Moderator certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with MerSETA/NAMB/QCTO ISO 14001 and BBBEE/SABS standards.
• Facilitate, assess and moderate apprentices, learners and artisans.
• Conduct Fitter and Turner trade phases 1–4 and pre-trade tests and trade tests.
• Deliver Pneumatic and Hydraulic training; develop curriculum modules for the Fitter & Turner trade.
• Plan training, present content, and ensure records are audit-ready.

Job description

• Maintain Merseta / NAMB / QCTO / ISO 14001 / BBBEE / SABS compliance.
• Facilitation, assessment and moderation of apprentices and learners and artisans
• Conduct Fitter and Turner Trade- Phases 1-4
• Conduct Pre-Trade Test, Assessment, and Trade test for the Fitter and Turner Trade.
• Conduct Pneumatic and Hydraulic training.
• Innovative ideas in training to ensure cost reduction.
• Ensure all training records comply with the National Auditing Systems of MerSETA/NAMB/QCTO.
• Planning and scheduling of training
• Development of curriculum modules of the Fitter & Turner Trade to ensure content is up to date continously.
• Presentations and information gathering / course content development for artisans

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• N4 AND Trade Tested Fitter and Turner Artisan
• Experience in training apprentices & Artisan’s within the Mechanical / Fitter and Turner Trades. Through levels 1-4, and up to and Including Trade Test.
• 5 years post apprenticeship, on the job experience, as an artisan.
• Assessor Certificate, Facilitator Certificate [Advantageous]

Advantageous

• Experience in either, the Manufacturing Industry / Steel Industry / Aluminium Processing Industry / Paper and Pulp Industry / Packaging Industry, and a clear understanding of / teaching Pneumatics / Hydraulics
• Moderator Certificate
