Job summary

A leading bookkeeping service provider in Gqeberha is seeking a Qualified Bookkeeper to maintain financial records, process payroll, and prepare financial reports. The ideal candidate should have a Matric certificate and further qualifications in Finance or Accounting, alongside at least 3 years of relevant experience and proficiency in Sage or Pastel Accounting package. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll and submissions.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial records including ledgers and journals.
  • Process monthly payroll and salary reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports: income statement, balance sheet, trial balances.

Requirements
  • Matric

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Financial records
  • Ledgers, journals, and subsidiary books
  • Reconciling and preparation of financial reports (Income statement, Balance sheet, trial balances)
  • Process monthly payroll and salary reconciliations.
  • Monitor fleet expenses (fuel, maintenance, other related costs)
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and supplier statements.
  • Manage invoicing, debtors, and creditors’ reconciliations.
  • Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS and statutory regulations.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial and operational reports as required.
