University of Johannesburg’s UJInvnt is seeking an Executive Manager (P5) for a fixed-term contract to lead strategic business development and intellectual property commercialization. The role drives value through licensing, dealmaking, and portfolio stewardship across the group and its subsidiaries.

The successful candidate will oversee governance, budgeting, fundraising, and investment activities, reporting to the Board and coordinating with the University.

Competenze

• Candidates must possess a relevant postgraduate qualification, preferably a Master's degree.
• Significant experience in technology commercialization, innovation management, and corporate or business development.
• Experience in investment analysis, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and commercial negotiations.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks and King IV principles is advantageous.

Mansioni

• Provide strategic leadership to UJInvnt and its subsidiaries.
• Oversee financial management and annual operating and capital budgets.
• Develop business plans and three-year operating plans.
• Identify, evaluate and commercialise intellectual property opportunities.
• Lead investment attraction and fundraising initiatives.
• Ensure governance, risk management and reporting to the Board.
• Manage end-to-end portfolio and project lifecycle.
