Executive Actuary (Data Analytics & Modelling) - A min 10 Years Actuarial experience of which 3 Years must be in Healthcare or Insurance A reputable Medical Aid Scheme is seeking an Executive to establish and lead the Scheme's new in-house Actuarial and Data Analytics function, with responsibilities spanning optimisation, efficiency, risk management, product development and competitive positioning.

Duties Co-ordinating with external Actuaries for reviews and statutory reporting, and presenting findings to Executive Management and translating data insights into operational recommendations.

Consulting with Clients on specific needs and providing actuarial solutions.

Developing and implementing the vision and strategic direction for the Actuarial and Data Analytics function.

Serving as a Key Member of the Executive Committee, providing actuarial and data-driven insights to inform organisation-wide decision making.

Building and developing a high-performing team of Actuarial and Data professionals.

Transforming the relationship with external Consultants to create a complementary service model that optimises value to the scheme.

Establishing robust actuarial methodologies tailored to the Scheme's specific needs.

Overseeing the development of pricing models, contribution strategies, and reserve calculations.

Implementing data governance protocols to ensure integrity of actuarial inputs.

Designing and implementing comprehensive reporting frameworks for internal and regulatory stakeholders.

Driving data-informed decision making across the organisation through developing actionable insights.

Leading product development and benefit design optimisation initiatives.

Developing frameworks to identify fraud, waste, and abuse.

Strengthening market positioning through competitor benchmarking and positioning differentiated benefit design.

Enhancing risk management through predictive analytics and scenario modelling.

Ensuring adherence to the Medical Schemes Act requirements, the Council for Medical Schemes regulations, and reporting requirements.

Monitoring and responding to evolving regulatory requirements.

Assisting the Internal Audit function.

Requirements

Grade 12 Qualified Actuary (Passed all Actuarial exams) Fellowship of the Actuarial Society of South Africa A minimum of 10 years Actuarial experience, of which 3 years must be within the Insurance or Healthcare industry, including Modelling and Data Analytics.

Experience working with Medical Aid Schemes will be an advantage.
