SUMMARY:

Masa is currently looking for an Excavator Machine Operator to work in the Tongaat area (KZN).

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 10 or equivalent (Matric preferred).
  • Valid Excavator Operator Certificate (from an accredited training provider).
  • Valid driver's license (Code 10 or higher is an advantage).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating an excavator on a construction site.
  • Knowledge of construction and safety procedures.
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate excavators (tracked or wheeled) for earthworks and material handling.
  • Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance of the machine (e.g., oil levels, tire/track condition).
  • Follow site instructions and project specifications.
  • Load and unload materials and move earth, rocks, and other materials as required.
  • Ensure proper leveling, trenching, and grading using the machine.
  • Monitor machine performance and report defects or repairs needed.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Cooperate with other workers and site supervisors.
