Guided by core values, we strive to offer something truly meaningful, from our regenerative practices to our dedication to artisanal craftsmanship.Events Operations ManagerThe Events Operations Manager is responsible for the seamless execution and operational delivery of all events across Boschendal Wine Farm.
This includes weddings, corporate functions, private gatherings, festivals, and brand activations.
The role ensures that every event reflects Boschendal's high standards of service, sustainability, and guest experience, while coordinating across multiple departments to achieve operational excellence.Event Planning & CoordinationManage the full operational delivery of all events from planning to execution and post-event evaluation.Work closely with the Events Sales and Coordination teams to ensure smooth handover from booking to delivery.Oversee site inspections, setup, and breakdown to ensure event areas are prepared to Boschendal standards.Develop and manage detailed event plans, floor layouts, and logistical requirements.Team Leadership & Staff ManagementLead, supervise, and develop the events operations team, including supervisors, service staff, and setup crew.Manage staff scheduling, performance, and training in collaboration with HR.Foster a positive, professional, and motivated team culture that aligns with Boschendal's hospitality values.Ensure accurate staff reporting, including attendance, timesheets, and event-specific labour costing.Conduct regular team briefings, debriefings, and performance check-ins to ensure smooth communication and accountability.Operational ExcellenceEnsure all events are executed efficiently, within budget, and according to client requirements.Liaise with internal departments including culinary, beverages, housekeeping, security, and maintenance.Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest experience across all venues.Oversee inventory and control of events equipment, décor, and consumables.Client & Guest ExperienceAct as the primary on-site contact for clients during events.Anticipate guest needs and resolve any on-the-day challenges or complaints promptly and professionally.Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service that enhances Boschendal's brand reputation.Financial & Administrative ResponsibilitiesWork with the Sales & Events Manager to manage event budgets, cost control, and supplier invoices.Track operational expenses and ensure profitability of events.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.Skills & Competencies : Strong leadership and people management skills.Excellent communication and coordination abilities.Exceptional attention to detail and time management.Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.Customer-focused mindset with a passion for hospitality and guest experience.Sound understanding of event logistics, setup, and service flow.Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets effectively.Qualifications & Experience : Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field.Minimum 5 years' experience in event operations or hospitality management, preferably in a luxury or farm setting.Proven track record in managing large-scale events and teams.Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.Closing date : 21 November
