Position Available: Events Department Administrator

Location: Cape Town – Goodwood – Byers Events HQ

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Events Department Administrator to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Events Department.
  • Assist with event logistics, schedules, and coordination.
  • Maintain and update project and event documentation (including budgets, staff rosters, and reports).
  • Process event applications, permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage and track department communication, correspondence, and filing systems.
  • Coordinate with the HR and Finance departments for event staffing and payments.
  • Support management with minute-taking, task follow-up, and deadline tracking.
  • Prepare and distribute event-related communication, reports, and briefing packs.
  • Assist with procurement of event-related materials and supplier management.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant Diploma or Certificate in Event Management, Office Administration, or Project Coordination (advantageous).
  • 2–3 years' experience in an administrative role (preferably within an Events, Hospitality, or Security environment).
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and event days.
  • Valid driver's license (advantageous).
