Placements24 is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistants to join our busy events team in Port Elizabeth. You will support catering operations for a range of functions, from corporate lunches to private celebrations, in a hands-on role.

The role requires a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work well within a team. Flexible hours including evenings and weekends are expected, with opportunities for overtime and career development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is advantageous but not essential.
• A strong work ethic and a reliable, punctual nature.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, customer-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of food items under the guidance of chefs.
• Set up and breakdown catering equipment, service stations, and dining areas.
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all service and preparation areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Support the catering team with various tasks as needed to ensure event success.
