Job summary

A leading inbound tour operator is seeking an Event and Operations Assistant Co-ordinator to support bespoke events across the UK and Ireland. This role involves supporting event logistics, coordinating with suppliers, and managing financial aspects to ensure successful event delivery. Ideal candidates will have over 2 years of MICE experience within a UK Inbound context, along with strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This position is remote, based in South Africa, offering R15 500 per month.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in a MICE event role within a UK Inbound travel agency or tour operator.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of UK and Ireland venues, hotels, and restaurants.
  • Fluent in English; Italian is a bonus.

The Role: Event and Operations Assistant Co-ordinator

This role supports the planning and delivery of business events within the MICE department. From responding to RFPs to supporting on-the-ground logistics, you'll be part of a dynamic team curating tailored experiences across the UK and Ireland. The role requires occasional evening and weekend work and a flexible, detail-oriented approach to ensure every event runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bring at least 2 years of experience in a UK Inbound MICE event role
  • Support event project management from conception through to delivery
  • Coordinate logistics, liaise with suppliers, and assist in curating memorable events
  • Monitor bookings and ensure timely updates and amendments
  • Help manage financial aspects to meet company and client objectives
  • Assist with vendor selection, negotiation, and quality control
  • Ensure all contractual terms and costing meet budget and client requirements
About You
  • 2+ years of experience in a MICE event role within a UK Inbound travel agency or tour operator
  • Strong UK and Ireland geographical knowledge (venues, hotels, restaurants)
  • Fluent in English (Italian is a bonus)
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with attention to detail and strong communication
  • Able to work under pressure and across departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Tour Plan, Canva, Trip Creator, and Mailchimp are a plus)
  • Self-motivated with a professional telephone manner and customer liaison abilities
