The South African Council for Educators (SACE) invites applications for a Legal and Ethics Officer at Head Office. The role supports the Ethics Committee through case management, investigations, and prosecutions in disciplinary hearings and appeals.

You will consult with complainants, prepare notices, interview principals, collect evidence, and draft reports. The post is a Grade C1 with a base salary of R360 318 per annum plus benefits, and requires legal qualification and strong communication

Formación

• Matric certificate with an NQF Level 7 qualification in law.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Consult the complainant to establish jurisdiction and gather information.
• Prepare and send out notices.
• Visit schools and interview principals, accused, and witnesses.
• Collect evidence and write investigation reports.
• Mediation of complaints where necessary.
• Prosecution in disciplinary hearings and appeals.

Responsabilidades

• Draft and manage case files from intake to final disposition.
• Coordinate across departments for notices, subpoenas, and records.
• Guide proceedings in disciplinary hearings and appeals.
• Ensure timely reporting to the Ethics Committee and management.

Educación

Matric Certificate, NQF Level 7 qualification in the field of law.
