Job summary

A leading firm in engineering is seeking a Quantity Surveyor in Cape Town to prepare detailed cost estimates and tender documents for mechanical projects. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of estimating experience, a strong understanding of materials and production workflows, and proficiency in reading technical drawings. An NQF 6 in Engineering or Quantity Surveying is required. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with project managers and contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents for mechanical, welding, and fabrication projects.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine material, labour, and time needs.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and evaluate cost competitiveness.
  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with technical and operational requirements.
  • Track project costs, identify variances, and support cost-control measures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.
Qualifications
