A reputable finance firm in Cape Town seeks an equity analyst to conduct thorough company and sector analyses of JSE-listed firms. The ideal candidate should have a finance-related degree, preferably be a Chartered Accountant or a Chartered Financial Analyst, and possess strong analytical and forecasting skills. Academic excellence and a keen curiosity about financial markets are essential. This role offers an opportunity to contribute actively to investment discussions and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Up to 5 years of working experience as an equity analyst in asset management or stock broking.
• Experience in building forecasting models to support investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct company and sector analysis of JSE listed companies.

Job description

• Full research responsibilities, including company and sector analysis of listed companies on the JSE.
• Assimilation and dissemination of broker information, annual reports, and company visits.
• Involvement in investment team debates.
• Presentation of recommendations to the investment team.
• Tracking performance of companies that CFM has holdings in.
• Chartered Accountant.
• Business Science – preferably finance stream.
• Actuarial.
• Chartered Financial Analyst.
• Up to 5 years of working experience as an equity analyst within asset management or stock broking industries would be an advantage but should not be a barrier to you applying.
• Experience in building models for forecasting purposes that test and support your investment decisions.
