A staffing agency in Gauteng, South Africa is seeking a Warehouse Operative to operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts, select and label products accurately, and maintain equipment. Candidates must be physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and comply with safety and sanitation policies. Experience with double pallet jacks and forklifts is required, along with efficient work practices.
Payrate: $17 / hr.
Shift hours: M-F 5am-pm (some OT possible)

Responsible for operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, selecting the correct products from warehouse racking, labeling product using SOS label technology, palletizing product as it is selected to build customer orders, and delivering product to the dock in a safe and efficient manner.
Hand selects orders within warehouse dry environments, operates assigned SOS unit to create labels, correctly places labels on product, stacks product on pallets in accordance with proper selecting procedures (e.g., no stacking heavy-on-light, labels facing out, etc.), stages pallets for loading on proper dock locations, stretch-wraps product on loading dock, maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to pallet jack, SOS unit, and personal protective equipment, and performs pre and post-trip inspections of equipment.
Must follow company preferred work methods at all times and follow sanitation requirements in order to comply with policy set forth by the company.
This position requires working until all products are accurately selected and loaded including potential overtime on holidays and weekends.
Essential skills include the ability to meet or exceed minimum efficiency levels established through an engineered production standard, working rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift in a fast paced environment, meeting or exceeding established cases per error goals, and developing a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.
Basic requirements include being over the age of 18, the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements, basic arithmetic skills, and adequate physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Reports to Night Warehouse Manager / Supervisor.
