About the Role

Our client, a dynamic environmental non-profit based in the heart of Cape Town , is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Environmental Sustainability Advocate. This role is crucial in driving our mission to promote eco-friendly practices and conservation efforts across the Western Cape. You will be at the forefront of engaging with businesses, communities, and policymakers to foster a culture of sustainability. Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement innovative sustainability initiatives and campaigns targeting diverse audiences. Conduct environmental impact assessments and provide recommendations for improvement to partner organizations. Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and public forums on environmental issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, government agencies, and community groups in Cape Town . Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and public events. Research and stay updated on environmental policies, best practices, and emerging trends. Create engaging content (reports, presentations, social media updates) to communicate sustainability goals and progress. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs.

Requirements

Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management, or a related field. At least 6 years of progressive experience in environmental advocacy, sustainability consulting, or conservation work. Proven experience in developing and executing successful environmental programs. Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with South African environmental legislation and policies. Experience in data analysis and reporting on environmental metrics. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid work model. Passion for environmental conservation and sustainable development.
