Educational Qualifications:
- Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Preferred Qualifications: Postgraduate qualification (Honours, Master's, or Postgraduate Diploma) in Environmental Management, ESG, Corporate Governance, Climate Change, or Sustainable Development.

Professional Experience
Minimum Experience: At least 5–7 years of progressive experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or environmental management roles, preferably within the energy, nuclear, chemical, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
Demonstrated Expertise In:
- Designing and executing ESG strategies across complex, regulated environments
- Leading sustainability reporting aligned with GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP frameworks
- Managing ESG compliance under South African legislation (e.g., NEMA, Companies Act, King IV Report)
- Conducting carbon footprint assessments and managing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions
- Advising executive leadership on ESG risks, climate change, and stakeholder expectations
- Coordinating cross-functional ESG initiatives involving HSE, Legal, HR, Engineering, and Finance
Competency Profile
- ESG Framework Mastery: Deep understanding of GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, ISO Environmental Management Systems, ISO Social Responsibility, Carbon Accounting and Climate Strategy
- Sustainability Reporting and Data Visualization: Ability to collect, analyze, and present ESG data using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or ESG-specific platforms; skilled in preparing integrated sustainability reports and dashboards.
- Environmental and Social Risk Assessment: Competence in identifying, assessing, and mitigating ESG-related risks, including environmental liabilities, social unrest, and reputational threats.
