Job summary

Mkhulu EDP is seeking an Environmental Specialist to implement and monitor the ISO14001-based Environmental Management System across the designated area of the business. You will ensure compliance with applicable legislation and drive processes to obtain Environmental Approvals.

The role includes managing multiple EMS modules, conducting investigations, and delivering training on safety and health issues. Ideal candidates hold the required environmental qualifications with 2–4 years of

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Environmental Management or higher (BTech or BSc) is required.
• Post-qualification experience in environmental management (2–4 years depending on qualification).
• Knowledge of environmental approvals and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor Environmental Management System per ISO14001.
• Ensure compliance with legislation for the designated area of the business.
• Execute processes to obtain Environmental Approvals.
• Manage Environmental Systems (Waste, Water, Fire, Hazardous Substances, Flora & Fauna, Rehabilitation, Pollution Prevention, Sanitation, NCR, etc.).
• Conduct environmental investigations (Incident Management, Internal & External Auditing).
• Provide training and awareness on key occupational safety and health issues.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide support by implementing and executing the Environmental Management System based on ISO14001 and related procedures within the designated area of the business.
• Ensure compliance to legislative and governance requirements of the designated area of the business through the implementation of compliance measures.
• Execute the process to obtain Environmental Approvals.
• Implement and monitor Environmental Management Systems (Waste, Water, Fire, Hazardous Substance, Flora & Fauna, Rehabilitation, Pollution Prevention, Sanitation, NCR, etc.).
• Perform Environmental Investigations (Incident Management, Internal & External Auditing).
• Conduct training and awareness on key occupational safety and health issues.

Desired Experience & Qualification

National Diploma or
B Tech or
BSc.
Qualification in environmental management
Related Minimum Experience:

• 4 years related experience plus National Diploma in Post qualification experience in the area of environmental management, or
• 3 years related experience plus B Tech in Post qualification experience in the area of environmental management, or
• 2 years related experience plus BSc in Post qualification experience in the area of environmental management.
